Vietnam has 60 recovered patients of coronavirus, tally hits 212 with 5 new cases

Doctors have discharged two Vietnamese men, who returned home from Malaysia and tested positive with coronavirus last month, from hospital, raising to total number of recovered patients in Vietnam to 60.

The patients who had been treated at the Ninh Thuan General Hospital for more than two weeks have been sent to their homes in the province for medical monitor for 14 days.

Patient 61, who was confirmed to have contracted the virus on March 16, was the first patient of coronavirus in Ninh Thuan province. He was tested negative with the virus three times before being discharged from hospital.

Another recovered patient, the 67th, was admitted to the hospital on March 17 and was confirmed positive for the virus on March 18. He also underwent three negative tests before exiting the hospital.

Both patients live in Phuoc Nam commune, Ninh Thuan Province. Both of them were in good health conditions with no fever, no cough, no shortness of breath, no chest pain when leaving the hospital.

Tally hits 212

Early Wednesday, Ministry of Health reported five more infected patients, including two having connection with Bach Mai Hospital, the country’s biggest epidemic cluster, raising total infections in the country to 212.

Three remaining patients returned Vietnam from abroad.

Patient numbered 208 is a 38-year-old woman who works for the Truong Sinh Company, the food and logistic services provider to the Bach Mai Hospital.

Patient 209, aged 55, lives in Long Bien District, Hanoi. Between March 18 and 24, she had close contact with Patient numbered 163 was a caretaker for her grandmother at the Bach Mai Hospital.

Patient 210 is a 26-year-old woman from Can Loc District in Ha Tinh Province in central Vietnam. She returned to Vietnam from Thailand on March 20 after she had met with Patient 201, also a Truong Sinh employee.

Upon arrival, she was quarantined at a camp in Ha Tinh and has tested positive. She is now undergoing treatment at the Cau Treo General Hospital in the province.

Patient 211, aged  23 lives in Chua Lang Street, Lang Thuong Ward, Dong Da District, Hanoi. She is a student in the U.S. On March 20, she returned to Vietnam after transiting in Abu Dhabi and Bangkok and was sent to a quarantine camp in Ninh Binh Province in northern Vietnam.

Patient 212 is a 35-year-old woman in Hung Ha District, Thai Binh Province. She flew back to Vietnam with her husband on Aeroflot flight SU290 from Moscow on March 27.

The couple was quarantined in the northern province of Vinh Phuc. She felt tired and ran a fever on March 29. After she was confirmed infected, she was transferred to the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Hanoi’s Dong Anh District, VnExpress cited information from health ministry.
