Vietnam discharges 10 patients of coronavirus from hospitals, total recovered hits 85

Vietnamese doctors have discharged 10 more patients of coronavirus from hospitals, raising total number of recovered patients in Vietnam to 85, Ministry of Health said.

Patients have been discharged from hospitals include patients numbered 34, 37, 38, 40, 41, 42, 43, 99, 100, and 121.

Seven among the patients were put under treatments and quarantine in Binh Thuan General Hospital while the remaining three patients were hospitalized in Can Gio Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City.

Of the three patients in Ho Chi Minh City, the 99, 100 and 121, the patient numbered 100 is a 55 year-old man living in District 8 returned to Vietnam from Malaysia and visited the Jamiul Anwar Mosque in District 8 five times a day between March 4 and 7 before he was found to have contracted the virus.

All of the recovered patients will be put under quarantine 14 days for health monitoring.

So far, Ho Chi Chi has recorded 18 patients who have recovered from their coronavirus infections and been discharged from hospitals. The number of patients discharged from hospitals have risen to 85 as of Friday afternoon.

Infections hit 237

Ministry of Health confirmed 10 new infections, raising tally to 237. Five among the new patients returning from abroad while one patient has connection with Bach Mai Hospital, the country’s largest epidemic cluster.

Patient numbered 231, aged 57, is an employee of the Truong Sinh Company, which provides food and logistics the hospital. The woman is a native of Bac Kan province.

Other five patients numbered 228, 229, 230 were quarantined on arrival from abroad on March 20.

Patient 234 is a 69-year old Vietnamese woman residing in Buon Don District of the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak.

She was a passenger on flight VN2106 from France to Viet Nam on March 17 and was immediately taken to a quarantine camp in District 12 in Ho Chi Minh City.

She is being treated at a hospital in Can Gio District.

Patient 235 is a 25-year old British man who visted Ho Chi Minh City's Buddha Bar, which has emerged as the second biggest cluster in Viet Nam, on March 14.

He is being treated at Cu Chi field hospital.

Patient 236 is a 26-year old British woman living in District 2 of Ho Chi Minh City. She also visited the Buddha Bar on March 14.

Patient 237 is a 64-year old Swedish man who landed in Viet Nam in December last year and had travelled to Ninh Binh, Ho Chi Minh City and returned to Ha Noi on March 22.

On March 26, he got accident and was taken to Ha Noi French Hospital. He was confirmed having the virus on April 1.

Of the total COVID-19 infection cases, 85 have been cleared of the virus and discharged from hospitals while the rest have been treated at 22 medical facilities across the nation.

All of the current patients have been in stable conditions, according to the Ministry of Health.
