Vietnam Airlines flight attendant prosecuted for allegedly spreading virus

Ho Chi Minh City police has decided to proceed a criminal prosecution against a Vietnam Airline flight attendant over allegations of spreading dangerous infectious diseases for people.

Patient 1342, who broke regulations in COVID-19 prevention, spreading the disease in the community, will be considered for criminal punishment, the Government News Portal cited a press meeting of Ho Chi Minh City’s Police.

The flight attendant spread the virus to Patient 1347, the first local infection after three months in Vietnam. From Patient 1347, there have been two other patients. Police considered the violation of Patient 1342 as serious.

Under the instruction of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, the city’s police started investigating the case. Nguyen Sy Quang, Deputy Director of the City Police told the press that police is investigating and determining signs of law violation of the patient.

Earlier, Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long said that the patient had infected COVID-19 in the isolation area when contacting another patient.

Regulations do not allow him to have contact with other people. While being isolated at home, the male flight attendant did not comply with isolation regulations.
