Organic agricultural products rise by more than 418% in export value

Annual exports of organic agricultural goods reach over $335 million, a growth of more than 418% during the period from 2010-2016, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Currently, more than 30 companies in Vietnam export organic vegetables and fruits, with France, Denmark, Switzerland, Sweden, China, serving as the primary export destinations. Other organic agricultural goods worth millions of dollars are also available for export, including coffee, rice, cashews, and pepper.

Exports of organic agricultural goods now in 180 markets throughout the world receive more than $335 million, a rise of more than 418% from the yearly export value of organic products between 2010 and 2016. 

Tea, shrimp, rice, cashew nuts, pepper, cinnamon, anise, essential oils, and spices are among the organic items that are exported, but in very small amounts.

The size of the global organic food market is expected to rise significantly over the following five years, with a compound annual growth rate of 14%, rising from $227.19 billion in 2021 to $259.06 billion in 2022 and reaching $437.36 billion by 2026, with North America and Europe predicted to experience the fastest growth.
