The number of Chinese tourists visiting Vietnam increase significantly during the Lunar New Year 2024, according to Agoda data.

The number of searches related to Vietnam tourism from Chinese tourists during the Lunar New Year in early 2024 showed a recovery nearly to pre-COVID-19 pandemic levels, reaching 95% compared to 2022, indicating a positive sign for Vietnam's tourism industry.

According to the General Statistics Office, China is the largest group of visitors with more than 1,74 million in 2023, representing a significant increase of 376% compared to the previous year.

Particularly, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Nha Trang, Da Nang, and Phu Quoc Pearl Island are on the list of top 5 popular travel destinations in Vietnam that have been highly sought after by Chinese tourists.

As Vu Ngoc Lam, Director of Agoda in Vietnam, Chinese tourists became Vietnam's largest source of tourism revenue in 2019, accounting for nearly 1/3 of the total number of tourists coming to our country.

“The renewed interest of Chinese tourists in Vietnam is a positive sign for the country's tourism potential in 2024. Additionally, Vietnam has successfully attracted tourists from other countries such as India and Korea by implementing favorable visa policies,” said an Agoda representative.
