Trade deficit with China hits nearly $28 bln in nine months

Vietnam’s excess of imports over exports with China hit $27.75 billion over the first nine months of 2019, according to the statistics of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
 

As of the end of the third quarter of 2019, Vietnam-China trade value was estimated at $83.25 billion.

Vietnam’s exports to China decreased by 3.8% compared to the same period last year, reaching $27.75 billion while the nation spent $55 billion for importing commodities  from China, up 17.3%. 

Vietnam mainly imports machines, equipment, tools, computers, electronics, phones and spare parts from China and exports computers, electronics, phones and farm products to the neighboring country.
