QTech, a camera manufacturer located in Hong Kong, China, has planned to invest $430 million in Nghe An, central region of Vietnam.

The facility is expected to cover 10-15 hectares and produce eight million optoelectronic items every month.

According to the company, this is also the third-largest camera manufacturer in China in terms of revenue and a partner of Samsung and Oppo. The company sought the government's help with tax regulations, administrative procedures, and staff recruitment.

Nghe An Vice Chairman Bui Thanh An welcomed the project and highlighted the province's advantages for foreign direct investment projects, such as its prime location, abundant workforce, heavy investments in the province's traffic and service infrastructure, and government support for firms.

An noted that over 1,000 hectares have already been allocated to industrial real estate developers WHA, VSIP, and Hoang Thinh Dat.

QTech's investment would bolster the central province's network of electronics companies, which already includes Luxshare - ICT, Goertek, Everwin, Ju Teng, Foxconn, Sunny, Runergy, and Shandong. An stated that Nghe An province would provide the finest project facilitation.

The official also asked the Dong Nam (Southeast) Economic Zone Authority to work with the investor on project implementation.

According to An, the central province has received $4 billion in FDI projects so far. Taiwan, Hong Kong, and mainland China are the most active investors, with 53 projects totaling more than $2.7 billion, he added.
