Vietnam's per-capita income expected to reach $7,500 by 2030

The GDP per capita is expected to reach around $7,500 by 2030; as stated in the Resolution on the National Master Plan for the period of 2021– 2030.

According to the National Assembly, the Resolution sets the general goal for 2030: Vietnam strives to be developing the country with modern industry, and high average income; the GDP growth of the whole country averaged about 7.0%/year in the period of 2021 - 2030. By 2030, GDP per capita at the current price reached about $7,500.

The Resolution highlights the network's findings on sustainable urban development, which include a goal to achieve 3 to 5 urban areas both locally and globally. 

Socially, the population size reaches around 105 million people while firmly sustaining replacement fertility (on average, each woman of reproductive age has 2.1 children). 

In a healthy person, life expectancy is at least 68 years or 75 years on average.

According to the resolution's summary of socio-economic divisions, the country's development space will be divided into six socio-economic regions. 

An organizational model and regional coordination mechanism will be built, and these will be used to carry out regional links and promote links between regions as well as increase resource efficiency. 

The North-South economic corridor will be developed in the period up to 2030 on the basis of the North-South transport axis in the East, connecting the active areas and major cities.

Chairman of the Economic Committee Vu Hong Thanh said: "The objective of urbanization of Vietnam to 2050 to achieve 70-75% is in accordance with the development goals of Vietnam as well as the trend of the world."
