Vietnam records over 2,900 cyber-attacks in the first half

Vietnam registered 2,915 cyber assaults in the first half of 2021, an increase of 898 over the same period of last year, according to the Vietnam National Cyber Security Center.

In June alone, the nation came under 718 cyber-attacks, according to the organization.

According to a study issued by the International Telecommunications Union on June 30, 2021, Vietnam leaped 25 places in two years to rank 25th out of 194 nations and territories globally in the Global Cybersecurity Index in 2020.

The Southeast Asian country placed seventh in the Asian-Pacific area, surpassing Thailand to take fourth place in the ASEAN after Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung, issued Directive No. 22/CT-BTTTT on June 25 to improve the prevention and combat of law breaches and crimes on the Internet.
