Vietnam's exports to the US hit $101 bln for the first time

Vietnam's goods export to the US hit $101 billion, making it the country's biggest consumer market and contributing approximately 30% of total export revenue.

According to the General Department of Customs, Vietnam's import and export of products was $57.3 billion in November, a 1.7% decrease from the previous month. In exports exceeded $29 billion (down 4.4%), while imports totaled $28.3 billion (up 1.3%).

However, the nation's imports and export totaled $673.7 billion in just 11 months (up 11.8% over the same time last year, or a rise of approximately $71 billion). In exports increased by 13.4% to $342 billion while imports increased by 10% to $331.5 billion.

In November, the nation's trade surplus reached $7.42 billion, increasing the total since the year's beginning to $10.7 billion.

With an average turnover of more than $61 billion/month, the highest sum ever for commercial activities in Vietnam, imports and exports from Vietnam are expected to surpass $700 billion in mid-December and surpass $730 billion for the whole year.

According to the ranking of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Vietnam ranks in the top 30 nations and territories for import and export volume worldwide, second in ASEAN, only after Singapore.
