INSEE Vietnam honoured as Top 100 Sustainability Companies 2020

INSEE Vietnam was honoured as one of the Top 100 Sustainable Companies in 2020 by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the 5th consecutive years.

As a long-term investor in Vietnam with more than 25 years of development, INSEE always strives to constantly achieve the goal of sustainable development, balancing among business activities and contributing to the economic development of the country as well as people and the global environment, it said in a statement.

The cement maker said its waste heat recovery power plant meets 25 percent of the plant's electricity needs, indirectly reducing about 25,000 tons of CO2 emissions in a year, equivalent to 9,300 tons of coal.

Moreover, the firm installed the most modern cement production line system, especially at Hon Chong - Kien Giang factory with bag dust filtration system is considered one of the advancements in the development process towards improving the INSEE Environmental Index.

The average dust emissions at the main chimney of the Hon Chong clinker kiln in particular and of all INSEE cement factories are generally 5 times lower than the permitted limit according to national technical regulations.

INSEE Vietnam always strives to integrate sustainable development into our core business to set new standards in sustainable development through our positive impacts on prosperity, schools and people in Vietnam.

By using alternative raw materials such as fly ash and steel slag to replace clinker in cement production, INSEE Vietnam has significantly controlled the use of clinker in our cement formulation, contributed to reduce the amount of CO2 emissions are at least 24% for every ton of cement produced.

INSEE Vietnam is a member of the Siam City Cement Public Company Limited, one of the market leaders in building materials industry in the region. The company has more than 1,000 employees working at five different cement production sites and the head quarter in Ho Chi Minh City.
