Samsung Vietnam, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and local governments held the end event for phase 1 of the "Smart Factory Development Cooperation Project" at 12 participating businesses in the North. The purpose of the ceremony was to summarize and rate how well the project worked.
After almost three months of work (from June 7 to August 23, 2023), the first Smart Factory Development Cooperation Project has produced many amazing results. Businesses are directly surveyed, evaluated, and given advice by both Vietnamese and Korean Samsung advisors.
The project also helped 12 businesses create smart plant models. Five of these businesses were from Bac Ninh, one was from Vinh Phuc, two were from Hanoi, three were from Hung Yen, and one was from Ha Nam.
Kweon Hyeogchel, a consultant from Samsung Korea, said, "I clearly felt the strong spirit of business leaders during project implementation toward the goal of developing the Smart Factory model, further improving its own competitiveness in the face of intense competition and current economic problems."
President of Samsung Vietnam Choi Joo Ho said, "I am thrilled and happy to be able to visit the site and see with my own eyes how businesses have changed dramatically because they took part in the Smart Factory Development Cooperation Project. It looks like pros are taking care of every part of the plant.
"Furthermore, I think that if businesses want to follow the smart factory model, the Vietnamese Government could make it easier for them by putting in place policies like cost subsidies or tax breaks," he said.
Deputy Director of the Department of Industry Pham Tuan Anh said, "Enterprises that took part in the project emphasized their strengths, used creativity effectively, actively, and proactively in completing tasks and implementing expert solutions, and they got important and positive results."
One of the businesses taking part in this project is Thang Long Packaging Production and Import-Export Joint Stock Company.
The company's general manager, Nguyen Minh Ngoc, said, "Before, we did everything with data by hand. This project helped us turn the data on the software and system into digital files and keep track of them.
From September 2023 on, part 2 of the "Support for the Development of Smart Factories" project will be run in the south, and 12 businesses will be given advice.
