VSIP Group, a joint venture between Singapore’s Sembcorp Development and Becamex IDC has got the Government’s approval to build an industrial park in Lang Son province.

The park spans 599.76 hectares in the communes of Ho Son and Hoa Thang in the Huu Lung district. The project will cost more than VND 6.36 trillion ($274.7 million), with VSIP Group contributing VND 954 billion.

The project will be operational for 50 years, beginning on May 15, 2023.

VSIP Group, a leading industrial park and township developer in Vietnam, signed a memorandum of understanding with Lang Son province in August 2022 to build the facility, also known as Huu Lung Industrial Park.

The project includes 428 hectares of factory and warehouse space, 10 hectares of technical space, seven hectares of administrative space, 86 hectares of traffic infrastructure, and 69 hectares of forestation.

To date, VSIP Group has created 12 industrial parks. The IPs are located in the northern provinces of Bac Ninh, Hai Phong, and Hai Duong; the central provinces of Nghe An, Quang Tri, and Quang Ngai; and the southern provinces of Binh Duong and Can Tho.

Sembcorp received an investment license in October to develop a 293.7-hectare industrial park in Can Tho, Vietnam's Mekong Delta.

Sembcorp announced in January that it would construct the third VSIP in Binh Duong province as a zero-emissions industrial park, the first of its kind in Vietnam.
