The country's vegetable production is expected to reach 23-24 million tonnes, with 1-13 million tonnes dedicated to processing.
A project aims to create safe and concentrated vegetable producing zones to meet local and export demand, contributing to national food security, food safety, cleanliness, and community health.
By 2030, national vegetable farming will cover 1.2-1.3 million hectares, with 360,000-400,000 hectares dedicated to safe and concentrated production.
Provinces and centrally managed cities must attract investments in agriculture and rural areas, as well as accelerate the development of integrated vegetable production chains that span cultivation zones, processing, and consumption.
Concerning the home market, the emphasis is on continuing to support firms, cooperatives, and individuals in developing safe vegetable brands.
This entails associating these brands with agricultural zone codes and geographic markers. The introduction of trading platforms, supply-demand connection, exhibitions, and trade promotion activities would diversify distribution channels for safe veggies.
The strategy for exporting entails preserving current traditional markets while actively growing into new ones. Proactive trade barrier elimination is critical, allowing Vietnamese vegetable products to be more widely consumed in the worldwide market.
