Vietnam's import and export of goods estimated to reach $49.46 billion in Feb

These figures show a 6% increase in the total import and export of goods in February 2023 compared to January 2023, with exports increasing by 10% and imports increasing by 3%, according to the latest report from the General Department of Customs
Compared to the same period in 2022, Vietnam's total import and export of goods in February 2023 increased by 2%, with exports increasing by 11% and imports decreasing by 7%.
However, in the first two months of 2023, the estimated total value of Vietnam's import and export goods reached $96.06 billion, a decrease of 13% compared to the same period last year.
Despite the decrease in total import and export value, Vietnam's merchandise trade balance in February 2023 showed a surplus of $2.3 billion, and the estimated merchandise trade balance in the first two months of 2023 has a surplus of $2.82 billion, in contrast to a deficit of $300 million in the same period last year.
On the other hand, state budget revenue from February 1-28, 2023, reached VND 29.266 trillion, while state budget revenue from January 1 to February 28, 2023, reached VND 56.330 trillion, equivalent to 13.3% of the estimate, a decrease of 19.4% compared to the same period in 2022.
Overall, Vietnam's merchandise trade balance showed positive signs in February 2023, despite a decrease in total import and export value, while state budget revenue experienced a decline.
