Vietnam’s Covid-19 patient tally hits 1,007, adding 14 new infections

Among the 14 new patients, 11 were in Da Nang, one in Quang Nam province, and two imported cases, reported the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Disease Control and Prevention.

The 11 patients in Da Nang, aged between 24 and 65, include people taking care of relatives at Da Nang Hospital and Da Nang Oncology Hospital, while three others contracted the disease from existing patients. One patient was medical worker and a patient at Da Nang Hospital.

The patient in Quang Nam, is a 26-year-old man, who lives in Duy Xuyen District. He contracted the disease from his family members, who had got the virus from Da Nang Hospital.

The patient is isolated and treated at a hospital in the province.

There was a patient who is 33-year-old Filipino. He went to Cam Ranh from South Korea on flight OZ773 on August 14. He was quarantined after his entry in Khanh Hoa and was sampled and sent to the Nha Trang Pasteur Institute.

So far, the country has confirmed 1,007 infected people, including 542 recovered patients and 25 deaths.
