Vietnam to lift quarantine regime on 10,000 residents in Northern Son Loi commune

Residents in Son Loi commune in Vinh Phuc province, where 11 people had tested positive with coronavirus, will resume daily activities from March 4.

Health officials from the Epidemic Prevention and Control Steering Committee of Vinh Phuc province told a meeting on Monday that there was no new infected case was found since the commune was locked down on coronavirus fears.

The commune which is about 40 kilometres from Hanoi was the first mass quarantine in the country, where 16 people had tested positive with the virus and six was in the commune. All of the patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

From February 13, 2020, the government of Vinh Phuc province urgently implemented the task of isolation and quarantine of the epidemic area in Son Loi commune in Binh Xuyen district to control the epidemic.

The last patient in the province was discharged from hospitals on February 26 and there was no new patients during the past 22 days, officials said.
