Vietnam spends $2.25 bln to import CBU vehicles in just 8 months

The results bring the total number of CBU cars imported in the first 8 months to 96,239 vehicles, with a turnover of $2.25 billion.
The largest auto import markets are located in Asia, including Indonesia, Thailand, and China.
In August, cars imported from Indonesia alone amounted to 10,360 vehicles, surpassing Thailand to become the most prominent auto supplier to Vietnam in the first eight months of the year.
Vietnam imported 38,469 automobiles from Indonesia between January and the end of August, with a total value of $556 million; 37,748 vehicles from Thailand, with a value of $749.3 million; and 13,198 vehicles from China, with a value of $535.87 million.
As a result, 90,136 CBU automobiles were imported from these three markets, making up 93.66% of all CBUs imported nationwide.
