Vietnam resumes visa exemption policy for citizens from 13 countries

Citizens from Belarus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Norway, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, and the U.K. will be allowed to visit Vietnam for up to 15 days without a visa regardless of passport type and entry purpose.
This visa exemption policy is implemented for a period of 3 years, from March 15 to the end of March 14, 2025 and will be considered for an extension in accordance with Vietnamese law.
Before the pandemic, Vietnam offered unilateral visa exemption policy for these 13 countries, the country's major tourism markets. Visitors from most other ASEAN countries do not require a visa for up to 30 days.
The country also granted e-visas to citizens of 81 countries that allowed them to apply for a 30-day, single entry.
The government fully reopened the country to foreign visitors and lifted nearly all travel restrictions from March 15.
The General Department of Tourism also held a press conference on the reopening of tourism activities under new normal conditions, after Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam asked the Ministry of Health to amend the regulations, requirements for tourists to enter the country in accordance with the new situation of surging Covid-19 cases in Vietnam.
Meanwhile, the tourism ecosystem from aviation, travel to accommodation, entertainment spots ... are ready to open the door for guests.
Businesses expect that with the great demand of international tourists recently, the number of international visitors to Vietnam will increase rapidly this summer.
