Vietnam reports second doctor becoming victim of coronavirus, total hits 141

The country has reported seven more coronavirus patients, including a doctor working at National Hospital of Tropical Diseases in Hanoi, raising total infections to 141, Ministry of Health said.

Of the new seven coronavirus carriers, one lives in Da Nang and the remaining six live in Hanoi.

Patient 141, aged 29, has become the second doctor in Vietnam contracting the virus and the country’s fourth medical worker found to have contracted the disease from other COVID-19 patients.

The works in the Emergency Department of the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases, colleague of patient 116, who had been confirmed with the disease.

The doctor was infected the virus while offering treatment to a patient, the patient No. 28, ministry said.

Patient 135, aged 27, is a native of Hai Phong, who departed Copenhagen, Denmark, transited in Doha and Bangkok before entering Vietnam on March 21 at Da Nang International Airport on the flight number PG947.

She was isolated at the Military Region 5 Defense Education Center and tested positive with the virus.

Patient 136 is a 23-year-old woman, who Hoang Mai District, Hanoi. She returned home from the US March 16.

Upon entry, she went home and conduct isolation herself. On March 21, the patient had a fever and was tested positive for the virua a day later.

Patient 137, a 36-year-old man, who is a native of Nghe An. He traveled to Hanoi from Germany, entering Noi Bai airport on March 15.

He was put under quarantine upon arrival. He has been put under treatment at Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Dong Anh District.

Patient 138 is a 23-year old male student from Dong Da District, Ha Noi.

He was passenger on flight VN0054 from the UK to Noi Bai International Airport on March 21.

Upon his arrival, he was taken to a centralized quarantine facility in Ha Noi for diagnosis.

He is being treated at the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh District.

Patient 139 is a 24-year-old student returning from the UK. The native of Hanoi arrived at Noi Bai airport on March 21 on flight VN0054.

She was put under quarantine at arrival. Currently, she is in a stable health condition.

Patient 140 is a 21-year-old man living in Tay Ho District, Hanoi. The patient is an international student from the UK, returning to Noi Bai on March 21, 2020 on flight VN0054.

He was isolated after arriving in Hanoi. He has been put under treatment at the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases.
