Vietnam has no newly confirm coronavirus infection on Monday morning, marking the second morning with no new patient from Sunday morning, Ministry of Health reported.

During the past 24 hours, the Southeast Asian country had only one new case reported on Sunday afternoon. The situation has been improved from previous days with more than 10 new cases reported daily in the past month.

As of Monday morning, Vietnam has reported 241 patients. Of them 150 people came from abroad, mostly from Europe and the U.S., and 91 other contracted the disease from cross transmission.

So far, 91 patients have been discharged from hospitals, 29 patients tested negative for the first time and 23 others got negative results at least twice.

The country began a 15-day nationwide social distancing campaign April 1, not allowing gatherings of more than two people and asking people not to leave their homes. The step was taken citing a crucial two-week period in the nation’s Covid-19 fight.
