Vietnam plans to build two coastal highways under PPP mode

The government of Vietnam is seeking approval from the National Assembly to spend VND1.4 trillion ($61.6 million) as initial investment for building two coastal highways in central province of Thanh Hoa Province.

The Government Office announced the conclusion of Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung at a recent meeting on the project investment of 10.5 km Hoang Hoa - Sam Son and 14.5 km Quang Xuong – Tinh Gia highways.

Local media reported that the highways together are estimated to cost totally VND3.08 trillion ($132 million), with the rest coming from private investors under a public-private partnership model.

Investors will collect toll for 23 years to recoup their investment.

The infrastructure project will be built under the public-private partnership, BOT contract. The road will allow speeds of up to 80 kilometers per hour.

Deputy Prime Minister Dung assigned the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa to report the project to the National Assembly and seek approval for investing the project under PPP mode and allocating of central budget for the project.
