Vietnam imports over 144,000 automobiles in 2022

Compared to the same time last year, more of the aforementioned goods were imported into Vietnam, according to statistics from the General Department of Customs

According to the General Department of Customs' most recent preliminary figures, the total value of products imported and exported from Vietnam in the first half of November was $28.4 billion, a decline of 6.3% (or $1.91 billion ) from the performance in the second half of October.

15,872 automobiles totaling more than $305 million were imported into Vietnam as CBU cars of various types between January and November.

In the first half of November, 14,482 vehicles with 9 seats or fewer were imported into Vietnam for a total of more than $266 million. Thus, with a share of almost 91.2%, vehicles with 9 seats or fewer continue to dominate the import market in Vietnam.

In the same period, 222 automobiles with more than 9 seats were imported into the Vietnamese market, while the number of transport cars reached 965.

The total number of CBU automobiles of all types imported into Vietnam as of the start of the year was 144,726 vehicles, with a value surpassing $3.2 billion. Imported CBU automobiles had a 5.9% rise in volume and a 6.3% increase in value over the same time the previous year.

In general, when contributing 119,604 vehicles and nearly 2.3 billion to the import results of the auto market since the beginning of the year, vehicles with 9 seats or fewer still accounted for a significant portion in both quantity and value.
