Vietnam goes 7 days without community transmission of Covid-19

The country’s Covid-19 patient tally remained at 1,054. Of these 868 have recovered. Since the second wave of pandemic outbreak reported in Da Nang on July 25, there have been 551 confirmed cases.
Local health officials have quarantined 37,474 people who were in close contact with infected patients and entered the country from the epidemic-hit area, according to the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.
Among the Covid-19 patients being treated in 18 medical facilities nationwide, 13 patients tested negative for the virus for the first time, while other 21 tested negative second time and 24 had the third negative results.
Six patients were reported under severe health conditions.
As of Wednesday morning, 35 deaths have been confirmed. Most of the deaths were the elderly with underlying diseases such as chronic kidney failure, end-stage blood cancer, polyarthritis, hypertension, chronic adrenal insufficiency, type 2 diabetes, multi-organ failure.
