A native of Northern province of Ninh Binh, aged 27, the 18th coronavirus patient in Vietnam, completely recovered and was discharged from hospital on Friday morning, Ministry of Heath said.

The man who was found to have infected with the novel coronavirus after returning from South Korea’s Daegu city tested negative for the virus three times on March 14, 16 and 18, ministry said.

Among the 69 patients being put under treatment in the country, he is the first to recover, raising total number of recovered patients to 17. Some other patients have also initially been tested negative with the virus.

The 18th patient has been treated at Ninh Binh General Hospital since March 7.

The man flew to Vietnam from South Korea’s Busan and Daegu cities together with his 24-year-old sister. Entering Vietnam on March 4, he was quarantined at a centralized facility before testing positive.
