Vietnam confirms two new Covid-19 cases, patient tally rises to 1,038

Health officials have confirmed two new Covid-19 cases, raising the country’s patient tally to 1,038, reported the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.

One of the newly-confirmed patients is resident of Da Nang. The other is an imported case.

Patient 1,037 is a 29-year old woman from An Hai Ward, Son Tra District, Da Nang. She came in contact with COVID-19 patient 1,036.

Patient 1,038 is a 23-year old man lives in Hang Bai Ward, Hoan Kiem District, Ha Noi.

He flew from Russia to Van Don International Airport on August 11 and was sent to a centralized quarantine camp in Hai Duong Province.

After completing mandatory 14-day quarantine, he returned to his house in Hang Bai Ward on August 25 and he was taken to a quarantine camp in Ha Noi's Tu Liem District where he had his samples tested again.

He is being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi's Dong Anh District.

The country's patient tally includes 663 recovered cases and 30 fatalities, said the National Steering Committee.
