The new patient, who lives in Vinh Phuc province, is family member of one of four infected workers returning from China’s Wuhan city, Ministry of Health reports.

This is the third human-to-human coronavirus transmission case in Vietnam. The previous two cases are from Ho Chi Minh City and Khanh Hoa.

On the same day, the ministry confirmed the 9th infected case of coronavirus. The patient is among the group of 8 travelling to Vietnam from Wuhan.

In related development, Li Zichao, 28, one of two Chinese nationals, who were the first people confirmed infected with the deadly new coronavirus in Vietnam, was discharged from Cho Ray Hospital.

He had tested negative for the nCoV four times since January 27, four days after he was first detected with the virus.

His father Li Ding, 66, also tested negative for the virus. Further tests will be done before he is discharged from the hospital.
