Vienam goes two straight months without Covid-19 community infection

With no new case of Covid-19 confirmed Sunday, Vietnam has gone two straight months without a single community infection.

The country’s patient tally stood at 1,180, including 1,063 recoveries and 35 fatalities, according to the National Steering Committee for Cobid-19 Prevention and Control led by Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam.

Of the total, 691 are local transmitted cases, including 551 linked with Da Nang since the latest COVID-19 wave hit the central city on July 25.

The nation is placing 14,689 people under concentrated quarantine or medical surveillance, of whom 176 at hospitals, 13,233 at concentrated camps, and 1,280 at places of residences.
