Two Buddha Bar-linked coronavirus patients among 3 new cases, tally hits 207

Health officials have confirmed three new patients of coronavirus, including one connecting to Bach Mai Hospital and two having link with Buddha Bar in Ho Chi Minh City, health ministry said.

The three new patients, two Vietnamese and a Brazilian national were reported to have contracted the virus from two major epidemic clusters in the country – the Buddha Bar in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi’s Bach Mai Hospital.

Patient numbered 205, a 41-year-old man, who works for Truong Sinh Company providing logistics services to the hospital.

While patient numbered 206, a 48-year-old Vietnamese man and patient numbered 207, 49-year-old Brazilian man are employees of patient 124, who had joined a party at Buddha Bar.

Earlier, the ministry reported a 10-year old boy in Ho Chi Minh City was confirmed to contract the virus. The patient numbered 204 traveled from the Czech Republic to Istanbul, Turkey on flight TK1770 before arriving in Vietnam on March 15 on the same flight with patient No. 83.

Another Briton discharged from hospital

Doctors from Hue Central Hospital, central region of Vietnam, have discharged another British national from hospital. The patient 49 recovered completely from the illness, raising total recovered cases to 56.

He is the second patient infected with COVID-19 who was successfully treated in Hue. This British patient is the husband of the 30th patient, who is still under treatment.

The recovered patient will be transferred to a concentrated isolation area at Sun & Sea Resort in Phu Vang district for 14 days.

As of Tuesday evening, Vietnam has reported 207 infections, including 56 recovered patients and 151 being put under treatments at 22 medical facilities nationwide.
