All of the new patients are permanent residents of Ho Chi Minh City while three of them have returned Vietnam from Europe and another came home from Malaysia, ministry said.
Patient No. 95 is a 20-year-old Vietnamese citizen in Ho Chi Minh City’s Go Vap district. The patient who is a student in France traveled to Vietnam an AirFrance flight number AF258 on March 17.
Upon arrival, he had sore throat, coughed without fever. The man was unable to breathe and transferred to an isolation area in District 12, before being sent to field hospital in Cu Chi district.
Patient No. 96, aged 21, is also a resident of Ho Chi Minh City’s district 8. She had returned home from her trips in Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic and France before she was tested with the virus.
The patient departed France for Vietnam on Emirates Airlines flight EK392 and arriving Tan Son Nhat airport on March 19, 2020.
In Ho Chi Minh City, she got fever, cough and was transferred to the city's Tropical Diseases.
Patient No. 97, who is a British national, aged 34, live in District 4, Ho Chi Minh City. The foreign language teacher had been in Malaysia before he came back to Vietnam on an AirAsia airline's flight number AK1502.
On March 14, the patient went to the Buddha Bar, where the 91st patient was there on the same day.
Six days after visiting the bar, the patient visited FV Saigon Clinic to report his epidemiologival history after hearing information about the patient No. 91. He was transferred to the city’s Hospital for Tropical Diseases, where he was tested positive with the virus.
Patient No. 98 is also a British national, aged 34, who roommate ate of patient No. 97 in District 4, Ho Chi Minh City.
The patient had been in Malaysia before boarding AirAsia airline's flight number AK1502 to Tan Son Nhat airport on March 6, 2020. He accompanied patient No. 97 to the Buddha Bar on March 14.
Upon hearing information about the 91st patient, he and his roommate, the 97th patient visited FV Saigon Clinic to report the epidemiological history.
Vietnam has recorded 98 cases of COVID-19, of which 17 have been discharged from hospitals.
A Vietnamese national returning from France has been confirmed as the 99th patient in Vietnam. The 29-year-old patient lives in Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City.
On March 17, 2020, he departed Paris for Ho Chi Minh City on an AirFrance flight number AF258.
Upon entry, the patient showed no symptoms and was transferred to the isolation ward in District 12.
