Twenty Korean tourists sent home for refusing to be quarantined in Vietnam

Upon their wish and the proposal of the Korean Consulate General in Da Nang city, the group of 20 tourists were sent home on a flight of Vietjet Air that was arranged by Aviation Authority of Central region.
The flight VJ878 departed for Incheon Airport at 23:55 on Tuesday night. The flight carried totally 234 passengers, including the group of 20 passengers from Daegu.
On February 24, Da Nang city’s airport received a flight with 80 passengers from Daegu City, South Korea. Of the passengers, there were 58 Vietnamese nationals, 22 foreigners (2 Thai visitors and 20 Korean), said Director of the Da Nang Department of Health Ngo Thi Kim Yen.
The group 22 foreigners coming from Daegu were quarantined at the Da Nang’s Lung Disease Hospital while 57 Vietnamese were put under quarantine at the Training Center of the City Military Command.
However, the group of Korean visitors refused to be quarantined for health monitoring for signs of coronavirus disease 2019requested by Vietnamese health officials.
The Da Nang city’s officials said 3,000 passengers had entered through the airport and seaport on February 24. Of which, 1,315 passengers had to fill in health declarations.
Travellers from or going through Daegu City and North Gyeongsang province must be put under quarantine within 14 days of immigration.
As of Tuesday night, South Korea reported 977 infected cases, 10 deaths and 20 recovered patients.
