T&T Group and Orsted plan to build offshore wind power projects of nearly $30 billion.

At the meeting with Ninh Thuan province, T&T Group - Orsted (Denmark) reported its proposal to prepare to invest in 2 offshore wind power projects Ninh Thuan 1 and Ninh Thuan 2 in Thuan Nam district.
Ninh Thuan 1 offshore wind power project has a capacity of 3,000MW, is expected to be implemented in 3 phases (1,000 MW each), investment from 2029-2033, with 150 turbines, 20MW pylons, over 150m high, a total investment of VND223,462 billion (nearly $10 billion).
Ninh Thuan 2 offshore wind power project has a capacity of 2,000 MW, expected to be deployed after 2030, with 100 turbines, implemented in 2 phases from 2030-2037 with a total investment of about VND 157,556 billion ($6.5 million).
The investor has also proposed to supplement the wind power development planning off the coast of Ninh Thuan and allow the investor to conduct surveys on the project's expected sea area, measure, monitor, topography, geology, and wind measurement; prepare a project feasibility study report.
At the meeting, leaders of the Ninh Thuan Provincial People's Committee noted the proposals and recommendations of the investor consortium. In the coming time, the locality said that it will continue to support, accompany and create favorable conditions for the project to deploy.
T&T Group and Orsted (Denmark) said at a meeting with Hai Phong City People's Committee that the project has a total capacity of 3,900 MW divided into 3 phases, 1,300 MW each, operating in different phases. in 2029, 2035, and 2037. The total investment for each phase is about $3.95 - $4.5 billion, and the total investment of the whole project is up to $11.9 - $13.6 billion.
The proposed research location is the sea off the southeast coast, about 14km from Bach Long Vi island; The Northwest is about 36km from Long Chau archipelago; 88km from Cat Ba Island; 76km from Tien Lang district; 74km from Kien Thuy district; 70km from Do Son district. The estimated area of the project development is about 870km2.
Hai Phong has proposed to the Prime Minister to put the wind power project off the coast of Hai Phong into the national electricity development plan for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision of 2045.
The investor expressed wishes Hai Phong will support the project to be implemented soon, strive to be allowed to survey in 2023, and complete phase I before 2030.
