The agro-forestry-fisheries sector has a trade surplus of over $8 billion

In the first nine months of this year, the agro-forestry-fisheries sector posted a trade surplus of $8.04 billion, up 22.5% annually, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).

During the period, the total export-import value of agro-forestry-aquatic products amounted to $68.92 billion, a decrease of 7.5% year-over-year. The export value of which reached $38.48 billion.

Specifically, fishery export volume decreased by 21.7 percent to $6.64 billion and forestry exports down 20.6 percent to $10.44 billion. However, agricultural and livestock exports increased during this time frame.

The export value of agro-forestry-fishery products to Asia increased by 4.9% to $18.71 billion, while exports to the United States decreased by 22.5% to $8.73 billion, to Europe by 11.2% to $4.17 billion, to Africa by 18.8% to $809 million, and to Oceania by 18.6% to $570 million.

China, the United States, and Japan remained the top three export markets, accounting for 22,1 percent, 20,7 percent, and 7.6 percent of export turnover, respectively.
