Thailand has decided the imposition of anti-dumping duty at a maximum of 51.6 percent on Vietnam’s steel products imported into the country, Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam said.

Thai Commerce Ministry’s Foreign Trade Department impose anti-dumping duties of 6.97-51.61 percent on steel products imported from Vietnam to protect local local steel manufacturing industry.

However, anti-dumping duties will be exempted for steel imported for producing products which will be exported to a third country. Steel products imported for special use purposes will also enjoy the exemption policy.

Thailand proposed the imposition of anti-dumping duty at a maximum of 40.49 percent on Vietnam’s steel products on September 20 last year.

The Thai Commerce Ministry’s Foreign Trade Department released its proposal to impose anti-dumping duties of 7.94-40.49 per cent on cold-rolled steel, steel plated or coated with aluminum alloy, and hot-dip galvanised steel imported from Vietnam.
