Seafood exports rise by 26% reaching $2 billion in 6 months

In June, Vietnam's total export of seafood products reached more than $377 million, up 32% year on year.
Accumulated in the first 6 months, Vietnam's seafood exports reached more than $2 billion, up 26% over the same period last year. Currently, seafood exports account for 35% of the country's total seafood export turnover.
Tuna exports recorded the strongest growth rate of 56%, reaching more than $553 million. Exports of crabs, other crustaceans and squid, and octopus increased by 45% and 29%, respectively.
Exports of bivalve mollusks increased by 21%, and exports of other marine fish increased by 12%. Only other mollusk exports decreased by 29% but this product only accounted for a very small proportion.
The conflict between Russia and Ukraine has not come to an end and continues to negatively affect the economy, including fishing, making raw materials scarce because of the high cost of exploitation. Besides, enterprises still face a shortage of raw materials.
