Samsung records Q1 revenue at nearly $20 bln in Vietnam market

Its plant in the Northern province of Thai Nguyen reported a record-high revenue of $8.8 billion in the reported quarter, according to data CafeF compiled from the Korean conglomerate’s financial statement.
According to the report, the revenue of four factories Samsung Bac Ninh, Samsung Thai Nguyen, Samsung Display Vietnam, and Samsung HCMC CE Complex reached nearly $20 billion in the quarter, up 12.9% from a year ago.
Samsung Thai Nguyen's profit also reached $0.8 billion, the third highest in the history of this factory. Samsung Thai Nguyen, Samsung Display Vietnam's revenue also grew by 18% to $4.7 billion.
At the remaining two factories, revenue was stable. Samsung Bac Ninh earned $4.8 billion, and Samsung HCMC CE Complex reached $1.6 billion, unchanged from the same period of last year.
On the profit side, Samsung HCMC CE Complex made a profit of $0.17 billion, up 136% and reaching the highest level ever.
In contrast, the profit of Samsung Bac Ninh and Samsung Display Vietnam decreased to $0.36 billion (19%) and $0.11 billion (-36%) respectively.
