Saigon Hi-Tech Park attracts $12 billion in investment

The Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP) first developed a national high-tech hub with a total investment capital of $12 billion after 20 years of operation.

SHTP is one of the first three models of high-tech parks in the country signed and established by the Prime Minister. This important initiative for HCM City is entirely funded by funds from the national and local governments.

Type of this project is developed, with the ambition of creating a high-tech industrial base for HCM City. The goal of HCM City and the entire nation is to develop into a scientific and technology sub-urban area in order to significantly advance the city's economic, technical, and knowledge base and the southern vital economic region.

SHTP has approved 163 projects totaling 12 billion USD in capital, including 10 billion USD from foreign direct investment (FDI).

Further, SHTP has drawn the top manufacturing companies in the world, including Intel (USA), Samsung (Korea), TTI (Germany), and NTT (Japan), and the leading Vietnamese IT companies like FPT.

In order to link to the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien Metro line, SHTP has begun building landscaping projects in its northern region.

SHTP has also developed a technological center to support logistics and a smart operation center to offer the information that enterprises investing in SHTP need.

The Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP) will turn 20 years in operation in 2022 (October 24, 2002–October 24, 2022), to celebrate this event the board will plan several useful and important events and activities to honor this day, according to Ms. Le Thi Bich Loan, Deputy Head of the Management Board of the SHTP said.
