Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, which has invested around $250 million in Vietnam, made the above statement on December 10 during a meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Hanoi.
According to Huang, the good relations between Vietnam and the United States will help boost bilateral collaboration in the semiconductor and AI sectors.
He praised Vietnam's clear vision and strategy, as well as the country's promising future in the aforementioned industries.
Vietnam has approximately 6,000 engineers working at local and foreign enterprises and plans to train 50,000 high-quality engineers by the end of this decade, with a particular emphasis on those specialized in semiconductor chip design.
The country sends about 30,000 students to the United States each year, making it the leading source of international students in ASEAN and the fifth in the world. Approximately 2.2 million Vietnamese also live abroad in the United States.
On December 7, Prime Minister Pham hosted a reception in Hanoi for Mr. John Neuffer, who was leading a delegation of leaders from key US semiconductor companies, including Intel, Qualcomm, Ampere, and ARM, on a working visit to Vietnam.
