Nine more tested positive for coronavirus in Vietnam, total rises to 30

As of 7:30 pm on Sunday, nine more people were found infected with novel corinavirus, raising total patients in Vietnam to 30, Ministry of Health said in a report.

All of the latest patients traveled the same flight VN0054 of Vietnam Airlines with the Hanoi’s first coronavirus patient, the 26-year old woman, who returned to Vietnam from the United Kingdom on March 2. 

The latest patient, the 30th infected person in Vietnam, who is a 66-year-old foreign visitor, riding the same flight from London to Noi Bai. The British national is in Hue after spending time in Hanoi.

The British citizen was tested positive for the virus this morning at the local Center for Disease Control. Her health condition is reportedly stable without symptoms of cough and fever.

Eight other infected people, who are foreiners and rode the same flight VN0054, traveled to Quang Ninh, Lao Cai, and Da Nang.

Of the nine new patients are foreigners, including 7 from England, one from Mexico, and one from Iceland, aged between 58-74, according to the Ministry of Health.

The patients are also reportedly in stabled health conditions.

Eariler, the Ministry of Health confirmed that a 61-year old man in Hanoi to contract the COVID-19. He became the 21st infection case in Vietnam. He was was on the same flight VN0054 of Vietnam Airlines with the 26-year old woman.

Of the total 30 patients confirmed so far, 16 had been cleared of the virus and were discharged from hospitals.
