New local Covid-19 cases rise to 30, eight more confirmed in Da Nang

Local health officials confirmed eight more cases of Covid-19 on Wednesday morning, raising the Covid’s tally caused by community transmission in Vietnam to 30 in just five days.

All of the new patients linked to hospitals in Da Nang city, which is now the country's largest coronavirus hotspot.

With seven women and one man aged between 19 and 68, total number of confirmed patients in Vietnam has risen to 446.

Of the new patients, three are patients of Da Nang Hospital for Lung Diseases, Da Nang Hospital C and Da Nang Transportation Hospital. Five are family members who take care of patients at Da Nang Hospital.

Da Nang Hospital is linked to at least 21 Covid-19 cases, according to Ministry of Health.

As of Wednesday morning, Vietnam has confirmed 446 Covid-19 patients, including 77 active cases and 369 have been discharged from hospitals.
