Jan.-Aug. agro-forestry-aquatic exports reach over $33 billion

During the reviewed period, the country's total export-import turnover of the products was estimated at $59.69 billion, resulting in a trade surplus of $6.72 billion.
Farm produce ($16.9 billion, up 11.5 percent), fruits and vegetables ($3.45 billion, up 57.5 percent), rice ($3.17 billion, up 36.1 percent), cashew ($2.23 billion, up 8.9 percent), coffee ($2.94 billion, up 2.3 percent), and livestock products ($325 million, up 26.1 percent) all saw significant growth.
However, exports of aquatic goods ($5.68 billion, down 25.4%), forestry products ($8.95 billion, down 25.1%), and manufacturing inputs ($1.32 billion, down 21.9%) all fell.
China, the U.S. and Japan remained the biggest importers of Vietnam's farm produce, making up 21.9 percent, 20.6 percent, and 7.6 percent, respectively.
In August alone, the economy earned $4.36 billion from exporting agro-forestry and aquatic products, down 6.5 percent annually.
