Hanoi YouTuber asked to pay tax for nearly $3.5 million incomes

The Hanoi Tax Department did not disclose identity of the YouTuber, but it warned over stiff penalty if this individual refuse to complete the tax obligations.
The authority has been supporting organizations, individuals making money from foreign organizations such as Google Play, Apple Store, YouTuber to pay tax.
Since early 2018, the taxman found 47 organizations with $3.4 million revenue and 526 individuals in Hanoi with revenue of $12.6 million.
Aafter receiving instructions, YouTubers in the city have paid $652,0000 tax, equivalents to 131% of the target.
Recently, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Taxation also collected $65,190 tax from an individual who earned $826,000 from YouTube between 2016 and 2018.
This individual was discovered invading tax when the department asked banks to cooperate in checking cash flow from Google, Facebook ... transferred to Vietnam. Later, this YouTuber admitted that he had not fulfilled his tax obligations.
According to leaders of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Taxation, there are several individuals who receive high income from Facebook, Google and several have not declared tax. The agency will continue to promote and coordinate with banks to implement more effectively in personal income tax management.
