Gov't establishes appraisal council to build Quang Tri airport under PPP mode

The council will be chaired by the Minister of Planning and Investment, including representatives from relevant ministries. It will coordinate the evaluation of the feasibility study report related to the construction of Quang Tri Airports project under the public-private partnership (PPP) mode.

In December 2021, the Prime Minister gave his approval to the Quang Tri Airport project. The project, which is being built in the Gio Linh district of Quang Tri province, has a total investment of more than  VND5,890 billion ($242 million), of which phase 1 is VND2,947 billion ($121 million) and phase 2 is VND2,950 billion ($121 million).

Quang Tri airport is one of 28 airports listed in the master plan for the decade from 2020 to 2030, which was authorized by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 236/QD-TTg and the Ministry of Transport planning in Decision 188/BGTVT.

At the same time, it is included in the Ministry of Transportation's master plan for the development of the national airport and airport system in the 2021-2030 period, with a vision for 2050.
