Dong Nai province scraps 531 foreign investment projects

Authorities of the country’s Southern main industrial hub have withdrawn 531 foreign direct investment projects with a total registered capital of $5.34 billion, according to the provincial Department of Planning and Investment.

The withdrawal came after investors failed to deploy their projects or enterprises sought government’s approval to scrap their projects because of insufficient investment capability. Most of the projects locate in industrial zones. 

Following the withdrawal, local government will grant investment licenses other foreign investors who are eligible to carry out the projects.

The industrial hub has 1,977 foreign direct investment projects with a total registered capital of $35 billion, of which 1,447 valid projects value $29.8 billion.

FDI projects in Dong Nai comes from 45 countries and territories, leading by South Korea, Taiwan (China) and Japan.

According to report, during the first 10 months of 2019, the province attracted 190 foreign direct investment projects with registered capital of $1.46 billion, exceeding 46% of whole-year goal.
