Health officials in Da Nang have quarantined more than 50 people who were in close contact with a local citizen who had initially tested positive for coronavirus, Ministry of Health said Friday.

The suspected patient, aged 57, who lives in Lien Chieu District, went to Da Nang C Hospital after having cough and feeling tired on Wednesday.

Doctors at the Da Nang Center for Disease Control and Prevention took samples for testing for Covid-19 and the result turned positive.

Remarkably, in the past month, the patient did not go out of the city. He rarely met people. He stayed at home to look after his grandchildren.

Transmission source of the suspected patient has not been identified. Health officials are investigating his family members to identify the source of transmission.

On July 20th, he got fever, cough and was sent to hospital.

If the man is confirmed to have infected with the virus, Vietnam will end 99 days without a single community transmission case.

As of Friday morning, the country has confirmed had 412 cases of Covid-19, with 365 people recovering so far, according to the ministry.
