Covid-19 pandemic to reach its peak in next 10 days in Vietnam

The number of new Covid-19 infections will continue rising and the pandemic is expected to reach its peak in the next 10 days, said Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Truong Son.

He warned everybody not to be subjective though drastic tracing and isolation efforts are underway.

The country had gone 99 consecutive days without a single community transmission case of Covid-19 before a community infection case in Da Nang was officially confirmed on July 25.

As of 6:10 am on Thursday, the nation’s patient tally reached 717, including 268 new cases reported since the emergence of the Covid-19 outbreak in the central city, according to the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.

The patient tally include 381 recovered cases and nine deaths, said the Steering Committee.
