The Chinese press noted that this is the latest achievement in promoting the import and export of agricultural products and high-quality foods between Vietnam and China.
Five large trucks carrying Vietnamese sweet potato arrived at Shuikou Border Gate. After being examined, the 134 tonnes of purple sweet potato were certified for sale in many localities of China.
A representative of the importer said that they planned to import 150,000 tonnes of sweet potato and 10,000 tonnes of durian through the border gates of Longzhou County in 2023, while expanding the import of other suitable products to increase the quantity and improve the quality of imported products.
Longzhou County has three enterprises who have signed agreements to import and export Vietnamese sweet potato.
In early April, the General Administration of Customs of China announced a list of the first establishments that met the requirements under the protocol on phytosanitary requirements for Vietnamese sweet potato exported to China, including 13 packing facilities and 70 sweet potato growing areas.
