Another illegal returnee from Myanmar infected with new coronavirus

The patient who was found while dwelling in District 9 after days of tracing has become the fourth member of the group of six people returning from Myanmar to test positive for the novel coronavirus.
Three had already tested positive for the virus while two other gave negative results. The six had traveled from Myanmar to Thailand on December 15 and to Cambodia on December 23. They crossed border to Vietnam by boat on December 24.
Local health officials have identified 17 people having close contact with the latest patient. The people have been put under quarantine and taken samples for test.
Patient 1440 was the first one in the group found with the virus. His mother reported local authorities in Mekong Delta’s Vinh Long province when he arrived home.
The latest patient in the group who live in District 9 worked at a mechanical factory in Long Binh Ward since returning to the country.
