Comedian John Oliver praises Vietnam coronavirus song on Last Week Tonight

A still of an episode of "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver" aired on March 2, 2020 shows John Oliver praising a Vietnamese song on fighting coronavirus.

Comedian Oliver described the song as an "incredible" public information video to help limit the coronavirus spread.

The Vietnamese public announcement on the coronavirus in the form of a song, an initiative of Vietnam Ministry of Health was featured in the "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver" on weekend.

The song composed by Khac Hung and performed by pop singers Min and Erik encourages people to wash hands to prevent coronavirus was praised by the comedian. "It absolutely slaps. That’s a genuine club banger right there!" he said.

The song has created a TikTok dance challenge, which is a trend in Vietnamese netizen community. Oliver showed audiences video-sharing social network TikTok, with Vietnamese dancer Quang Dang, dance to the song.

Created by the National Institute of Occupational and Environmental Health, the song is actually a parody of another popular song, also by Khac Hung, Min and Erik called "Ghen" (Jealousy).
