Thai Binh Group opens first Vietnamese factory in Cuba: VnEconomy

The Thai Binh Investment Trading Group has opened a plant manufacturing diapers and sanitary napkins at the Mariel Economic Zone in Cuba.

The first Vietnamese factory in Cuba was built on 10,000 sq m with initial investment of $9.3 million.

It is designed with two production lines using advanced technology and is able to produce 120 million diapers and 240 million sanitary napkins each year, meeting about 70 percent of demand for such products in the country.

he group aims to export products to other markets in the Caribbean in the second phase of the project and plans to build a washing powder factory with a capacity of 50,000 tons peryear in Cuba.

The Thai Binh Group presented 200,000 diapers to Havana’s education department, to be distributed to orphan care centers in the Cuban capital. It has had 20 years of development in Cuba and is one of the important suppliers of consumer products in the country.

Established in 1998, the company specializes in producing items such as apparel, leather goods, consumer goods, food, construction materials, and various other industrial products.
